Job Summary: The Installation Manager is responsible for leading, training, scheduling, and managing installation and service personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of field operations. This role oversees installation activities, equipment readiness, vehicle maintenance, and jobsite safety while serving as a key liaison between installation teams, project management, and sales. The Installation Manager plays a critical leadership role in driving safety compliance, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction across all installation projects.
Lead, train, schedule, coach, and support installation and service personnel to ensure consistent performance and adherence to company standards.
Oversee the safe operation, maintenance, and readiness of installation vehicles, tools, and equipment.
Conduct jobsite inspections to identify safety risks and ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
Ensure crews consistently use required personal protective equipment (PPE) for all installation activities.
Support site surveys, project planning, and estimating efforts as needed.
Manage and oversee the installation and service of a wide variety of signage types, including interior and exterior applications.
Ensure installation surveys, drawings, and work orders are accurately reviewed, interpreted, and executed.
Supervise the proper loading, securing, and transportation of signage and materials to job sites.
Ensure vehicle logs, inspection reports, and required documentation are completed accurately and on time.
Oversee maintenance and safe use of installation equipment, including cranes, bucket trucks, scissor lifts, welders, torches, and hand tools.
Review work orders prior to job departure to confirm required tools, materials, and hardware are available.
Communicate effectively with sales, project managers, and field teams regarding scheduling, jobsite issues, and installation challenges.
Perform pre-work safety assessments, including evaluation of power lines, ground conditions, and equipment setup.
Direct crews to maintain clean, organized, and professional worksites.
Ensure customer sign-offs and completion photos are obtained and properly documented.
Attend required meetings, training sessions, and safety programs.
Protect and responsibly manage all company assets, vehicles, and equipment.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 5 years of leadership or management experience overseeing sign installation teams.
6 - 7 years of hands-on experience in sign installation and service, including interior and exterior signage.
Strong working knowledge of electrical, welding, crane operations, equipment operation, and jobsite safety practices.
Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions year-round.
Experience supervising crews using bucket trucks, cranes, scissor lifts, and related installation equipment.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead teams and collaborate cross-functionally.
Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and commitment to safety and quality.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision while managing multiple priorities.
Proficiency with basic computer systems and production or project-related software.
Clean driving record required; CDL preferred.
Journeyman or Apprentice Sign Electrician license (Texas) preferred; company support available for licensing.
Regularly required to stand, climb, balance, and use hands and tools.
Frequently required to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work at heights, including rooftops and elevated structures.
Exposure to outdoor environments and extreme weather conditions.
High-noise work environments common.
Travel Requirements
This position is required to travel as an essential function of this role due to the need for in-person interaction with customers, field partners, and/or business stakeholders. Travel may include local, regional, or national destinations and may be conducted via automobile, air, or other modes of transportation. All travel must be pre-approved in accordance with company policy and conducted in compliance with applicable safety and expense guidelines.
