Job Summary: The Graphic Designer – Wayfinding & Compliance is responsible for planning and designing effective interior signage systems for corporate office environments, with a strong focus on wayfinding strategy, brand consistency, and regulatory compliance. This role blends graphic design expertise with knowledge of building codes and ADA requirements to deliver signage solutions that are functional, visually appealing, and legally compliant. The designer will work closely with project managers, clients, and production teams to ensure timely, high-quality execution

Responsibilities

  • Plan and program wayfinding journeys throughout corporate office buildings, aligning with architectural layouts, user experience principles, and client brand standards or brandbooks.
  • Interpret and apply ADA guidelines, building codes, and fire/life safety requirements when designing signage solutions.
  • Use specialized software to input sign messages and accurately plot locations on floor plans.
  • Prepare detailed signage design submittals and shop drawings for internal and client review.
  • Create brand-compliant artwork and sign families based on standardized guidelines, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Coordinate with project managers to understand project scope, signage needs, and deliverables; may participate in client meetings as needed.
  • Respond quickly to revision requests and changes in project scope.
  • Maintain clear communication of priorities, deadlines, and workload status to meet project timelines.
  • Generate order sheets and ensure artwork is production-ready and aligned with fabrication requirements.
  • Track and organize design tasks across multiple sign families, incorporating periodic updates and custom requests.
  • Ensure proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation in signage content, accounting for regional language or non-English requirements.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Brand Books and standardized shop drawing templates.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Environmental Design, Architecture, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in signage design, wayfinding, or environmental graphics
  • Experience in signage or architectural graphics within corporate or commercial environments preferred

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of ADA signage guidelines, building codes, and compliance considerations
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
  • Experience plotting sign locations on floor plans and working with architectural drawings
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow strict brand standards
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate status proactively
  • Strong written communication skills, with emphasis on accuracy and grammar
  • Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, or other drafting/space planning tools preferred
  • Familiarity with sign programming software and content management systems preferred
  • Experience producing Brand Books, sign schedules, and shop drawings for production preferred

Pay Range

$60,000- $70,000 annually - Pay range listed reflects the potential pay for this role. The pay will depend on various factors, such as responsibilities of the position, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Not all positions posted will have a pay range listed.
