Job Summary: The Service Technician is responsible for performing tasks related to customer service orders for the service and repair of various types of signage and support structures. Primary responsibilities include servicing a range of interior and exterior signs, including but not limited to directional, wayfinding, neon, channel letter, LED message centers, price signs, post & panel signs, and ADA-compliant signs. The Service Technician must prioritize safety, quality, and productivity while maintaining a professional, customer-focused demeanor. Familiarity with installation techniques, construction, and relevant codes is essential

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Service Manager/Install Manager in servicing and repairing signs and support structures.
  • Complete all service orders dispatched by the Service Manager/Install Manager, ensuring all paperwork such as work orders and material lists is properly filled out.
  • Load and unload signs, pipe, and related materials.
  • Perform general maintenance on company trucks and equipment, ensuring vehicles and equipment are well-maintained, clean, and secure.
  • Demonstrate precision and attention to detail in all work activities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper storage of materials and equipment when not in use.
  • Exhibit professionalism in the workplace and on job sites.
  • Be flexible with work hours, including availability for overtime as needed by management.
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions as needed.
  • Protect and care for all company resources.
  • Ensure housekeeping duties are performed, including cleaning up all debris from installation activities and storing materials and equipment properly.
  • Be available for extended travel to job sites both in-state and out-of-state.

Qualifications

Education, experience, certifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age for insurance purposes.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform math tasks.
  • 2+ years of experience in interior and exterior sign installation.
  • Experience with a variety of signs, lighting fixtures, electrical signs, and custom-designed architectural décor.
  • Ladder Truck or Bucket Truck experience.
  • Apprentice Electrician License or eligibility for an Apprentice Electrician License.
  • Light construction and vinyl wrap experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with standard measurements and measuring devices such as tape measures and squares.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to regularly lift and manipulate heavy objects, up to 80+ pounds, with the assistance of equipment like dollies, forklifts, or cranes as needed.
  • Must be able to push/pull, climb, stoop, kneel, stand, or crawl as necessary to perform job tasks such as loading/unloading materials or servicing signs.
  • Comfortable working at heights up to 130 feet or more, including on rooftops and sides of high-rise buildings.
  • Must work in extreme weather conditions, from summer heat to winter cold.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to very loud noise levels regularly.
  • The employee will encounter various conditions while performing essential duties.
