Job Summary: The Billing Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely billing and invoicing. This role involves a variety of tasks, including generating invoices, processing payments, and resolving billing discrepancies. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of billing and accounting principles.

The pay rate range for this position is $22 to $23 an hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Generate accurate and timely invoices.
• Process payments and apply them to the correct accounts.
• Resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries.
• Maintain accurate records of billing and payment transactions.
• Assist with month-end close procedures.
• Stay up-to-date on billing regulations and industry standards.
• Utilize billing software to generate reports and analyze data.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate billing.
• Assist others in department as needed.

Skills

• Strong organizational skills

• Experience with AIA pay applications (G702/G703).
• Computer/typing skills – Microsoft Excel
• Ability to prioritize tasks to meet internal and external customer deadlines
• Handle stress of high-pressure deadlines
• Proficiency in billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Accounting knowledge

Education, experience, certifications

• High School Diploma
• One – three years of related experience
• Working toward a Finance or Accounting degree preferred.

Physical and mental demands

• Lifting maximum of 50 lbs.
