Job Summary: The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed timely, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Enters, maintains, and processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ commissions and bonuses, calculation of severance, retro, short-term disability, and employee reimbursements.
  • Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for garnishments, uniforms, and other miscellaneous deductions.
  • Reconciles payroll to the general ledger.
  • Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills

  • Proficient with ADP software.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Education, experience, certifications

  • 3 - 5 years of ADP payroll processing and reporting experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
