Responsibilities

  • Job Summary: The Senior Project Manager has the overall delivery responsibility to the company for the quality, schedule, and cost and client satisfaction of assigned projects. The Senior Project Manager is primarily responsible for operational leadership, ensuring the performance of direct reports in daily operations, and effective planning, coordination and on time execution of work. The Senior Project Manager further ensures all work is within budget, while promoting and enhancing client relationships.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities and skills required.

    • Enforce performance expectations with direct reports, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure fulfillment of contract schedule, performance, and quality and safety requirements.
    • Creating work scope and expectations for every project and every project manager
    • Measure and hold accountable both personnel and subcontractors
    • Enforce project procurement strategy, review estimates, execute contracts and strategic purchases and support company strategic alliance programs.
    • Maintain and optimize financial success of project through consistent review of financial status, budgets, and cost reports. Weekly/Monthly review of these areas.
    • Manage inventory
    • Margin management and goal achievement
    • Annual Budget and quarterly re-budget
    • Monthly forecast (accuracy important)
    • Weekly billing goals
    • Progressive billing (on contracts allowing progressive billing)
    • Collections
    • Recruit, train, manage and coordinate the work of construction and support staff. Provide support, direction and encourage training of team members. Provide technical leadership to all members of the project team.
    • Manage personnel include MBO’s and career training with the objective of providing them growth and career advancement
    • Training of all team members

    • Close out procedures including close out documents for clean billing
    • Hold accountable
    • Provide regular project status reports to management as required.

    • Direct the project meetings.
      • Customer Status Meeting / Communication
      • Weekly status meetings with customer and/or summary of information
      • Kickoff meeting for all new accounts should include Charter Tabs and management representatives for:
      • Project Management resources
      • Project Management plan/milestones
      • KPI/SLA
      • Finance (contract, terms, and A/R contacts)
      • Pricing agreements
      • IT (Reporting, dashboards, or Portal)
      • Promote the growth and development of client, subcontractor, and vendor relationships.
      • Conduct business and execute work in a professional manner; ability to handle conflict and confrontation.
      • Display problem solving and decision-making ability; results-oriented, organized with good follow-up skills.
      • Proficient strategic planning skills, analytical skills, and negotiation skills.
      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral).
      • Must be able to apply concepts and exploit opportunities for Sustainability.
      • Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • Job Specifications:

    • Skills
    • Possess an understanding of general construction contract agreements, the contract agreement implementation as it relates to the Guaranteed Scope of Work, reporting requirements, and financial commitment.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of construction techniques and skills.
    • Proficiency with PC-based programs (Microsoft Excel, Project, Power Point, Access) including scheduling, and basic accounting principles.
    • Education, experience, certifications
    • Preferred 4-year degree in an accredited construction related curriculum (BSCE, BSCM, BSAE, etc.) or experience equivalent to a 4-year degree.
    Minimum 4-6 years prior management experience directing project teams
