Overview

We are seeking a passionate and proactive Safety Manager to join our team at Stratus. In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, visitors, and the environment. You will be responsible for implementing, and maintaining our safety programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering a culture of safety awareness and responsibility.

Responsibilities

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
  • Investigate and document safety incidents and near misses and recommend corrective actions.

Program Development and Implementation:

  • Support and implement comprehensive safety programs, including but not limited to safety training, job hazard analyses, and emergency response plans.
  • Maintain safety documentation and records.
  • Conduct effective safety training for all employees.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Communicate safety policies and procedures to all employees.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and participation through ongoing communication and engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, HR, and management, to integrate safety into all aspects of our work.

Equipment and Regulatory Knowledge:

  • Maintain knowledge of relevant safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Possess working knowledge of manufacturing tools and equipment, including forklifts.
  • Manage and track employee certifications and licenses related to safety compliance.

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Education, experience, certifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience in safety, manufacturing or a related field.
  • Possession of a 30-hour OSHA card required within 12 months of employment.
  • CPR/First Aid certification required within 6 months of employment.
  • Forklift train the trainer authorization preferred.

 

Physical & Mental Demands:

  • Ability to travel 25% of the time, at minimum.
